Bio

Grace Biswas is an American photographer, visual artist, and educator.

GROWING UP IN CENTRAL ARKANSAS, Biswas' artwork engages with the history of photographic representation of the American South. Throughout all of her projects, she employs historic 19th century and early 20th century photographic and photomechanical processes, such as the salted paper print and the photolithograph. Biswas lives and teaches art in Central Illinois.

For me, the beauty of a photograph comes not only from its composition, but also from the photograph's materiality and the history of its medium.
